Week 17

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself."
- George Bernard Shaw

Hola!
This week was a really great one. We didn't teach a lot of people but
we had a lot of adventures! This was the week of finding everyone who
isn't interested. :) but we have another person preparing for baptism,
and 2 on for June 11th! They are so ready and it's going to be
wonderful.

Mighty Miracle May was wonderful and we are really excited for June!

Last P day we went bowling again, and Sister Gibb and I ended up being
the only set of sisters who could make it, but we had a blast!

We wore our grandma shirts for fun. :)

Twice this week I had to hold baby newborn kittens. It was not fun. They kept screaming at me!!! Kittens are creepy little things. I like puppies much better.
There are 4 in this pic. 2 orange and 2 gray. I am not very excited that they were just put in my lap haha

Our Elders had a baptism this week! This girl is awesome and we are so happy for her! We have a feeling she's going to be a great force for good with the youth in our ward. Plus her friend got to baptize her! Elder Perez and I sang a duet at her baptism.
It was a special day!

This week I caught the tiniest lizard of all time!!!!
It was amazing.

It was so small I thought it was a bug. But it wasn't!
Do lizards hatch from eggs? This is a question I have been thinking about for the whole week.

Also this week, our newly baptized converts both received callings!
K is now the Gospel Principles Class President and E is a Ward Missionary!!!
They are both doing wonderful and are very strong and active. It's a miracle to see how much happiness is brought through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ and understanding your own divine purpose. I see it each and every day as we teach and talk to people.
Even when it gets hard, I still see the blessings in my life from living the gospel. It doesn't mean we are always happy or having fun, but it means we are never afraid and we always have joy. I love being a missionary.
Thank you for being there for me!
All the love,
Sister Caton

Week 16

"Heroes- in myth, literature and real life- take journeys, confront
dragons, and discover the treasure of their true selves." - Carol S.
Pearson

Hola!
This week was exciting! We had adventures as usual.
Sister Gibb and I have been teaching and preaching as missionaries do
and we've been working really hard.

Last P-day we went on a hike with our district! We didn't take a
picture but it was a really fun time. There were these spiders called
Banana Spiders everywhere... Look them up, they get nasty! But we had
fun. We stuck a lizard on one elder's ear so that was crazy.

On Wednesday, we had a big meeting all day long in the Stake Center
where we talked about our work and everything. It was wonderful! It
was really spiritual and I know that our President is inspired. Sister
Gibb and I took a generational picture with my grandma (her trainer)
because she's going home after this transfer.
She was also my first Sister Training Leader. We're really going to miss her.

Also this week, Our recent convert Ella got a calling!!! She is now a ward missionary! She already gave her son's girlfriend a Book of Mormon and invited her to church. She is doing so well!

I hit my 4 month mark from leaving home this week. That feels weird. Also I just feel like time flies and it also doesn't. Being a missionary is so strange at times because you forget that time is passing and life is happening. I keep telling sister Gibb about how all my best guy friends are on missions but all the girls aren't. I accidentally included myself haha :)

Also this week I took a great photo of a mug I saw in a 7-11.
Yeah I'll stick to the Word of Wisdom, thanks.

I can't even begin to explain the many miracles we see each and every day. I love being a missionary. I wish I was a better one.
This truly is the Lords work! Have a wonderful week everyone!
Love,
Sister Caton

Week 15

"Oh no! I don't know how to dance!" -Sawyer (a little boy in our ward)

Hey everyone!
This week was amazing and I had so many adventures!
Firstly, this week we went to a less actives house and we got to see a
bunch of awesome animals on our tradeoff with the Sister Training
Leaders. There is photo evidence!

It was a marvelous time. Plus her daughter and grandson are going to get baptized! Good times.

Also this week I hit a mission milestone which is I ATE GATOR TAIL.
IT WAS DELICIOUS!!! Sister Gibb and I really enjoyed it.

Also this week we had a really awesome giant devotional with the LDS band Firefly. They were so awesome and sweet. Look them up at iheartfirefly.com :)
We took a recent convert and investigator with us and we had so much fun. It was beautiful music along with great testimonies from recently baptized members. :)
Also, I got to see Sister Smith! It was so awesome to see her again!

Anyway, Mighty Miracle May is coming along swimmingly and we have 2 new baptisms coming up in June! We love them and everything is going great. I have never felt so blessed!
I love y'all! Keep up your good works!
Love,
Sister Caton

Week 14

"What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity." - Joseph Addison

Hey everybody!
This week was filled with miracles and I feel so lucky to be me!!!

We were able to have another baptism, this time a wonderful lady we
met!!! She is 63 and has been searching for the true church her whole
life. She is just such a wonderful person!!!

We took a selfie :)

Her baptism was wonderful, and even though she is afraid of water, she took it like a champ! We're so proud of her.

Also this week, I got to hold a baby pug puppy!!!

There were 4 of them and we just had a great time snuggling them.

Also that day we went knocking on a street where we met 3 different men named James. And 2 of them we set return appointments with to meet again! It was crazy but a miracle. On that street we also saw a banana tree, and Sister Gibb took a selfie with a cat. It was a very eventful street.
This week we saw many miracles for mighty miracle may! Please keep the mission in your prayers!!!!
We met a family this week who we think may truly be ready for he gospel so we'll see!!!
I am so grateful to have the chance to be a missionary. I truly love it and I love seeing people's lives change as the gospel brings happiness and love into their lives. God is Love.

It's funny because this week, a good friend of ours and member of the Normandy Ward got married in Utah, and Sister Gibb's parents got to go to the reception! When he was asked to describe us he said, "Sister Gibb is real, the way she is around people is the way she actually is. And Sister Caton is Pure Love."
Kind of neat! Hopefully I'm living up to that.
I love you all! Have a great week!
Love,
Sister Caton

Week 13

"There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a person being
themselves. Imagine going through a day being unapologetically you."
-Steve Maraboli

Okay this is going by way too fast! Today is my 3 month anniversary of
being in the field!!! I can't believe it's been that long, it feels
like way less. Time flies when you're teaching, preaching and
baptizing!!! Probably because it's so awesome and exciting.

This week is transfers! And on Saturday we have a mission-wide call to
find out what happens to everyone. This transfer a lot of people got
moved around, but Sister Gibb and I found out we're staying together
another transfer!!!! We are so excited because that means Sister Gibb
gets to be at E's baptism! Also, we have a pretty awesome time
together. This makes me her longest companion!

This week we had so much fun! I got to go be with the sisters in
Fleming Island while Sister Gibb went to the temple, and we had a
great time! They have an investigator who has a restaurant with
Louisiana delicious cooking, and she came up and gave us kisses on our
foreheads, leaving us marked with purple lipstick. It was awesome food
and we had a lesson too :)

We had tons more adventures of course but that was the only one I took pics of. :)

On Wednesday we had our district meeting and it was one of the Elder's Birthdays so we went out to Birthday Lunch, and our mission president and his wife came! It was awesome. We have an awesome district, and I am so glad that we are ALL STAYING FOR ANOTHER TRANSFER!!!!
That's basically unheard of. We must be doing something right.

Also this week, we went back to the lady we made soap with a couple of weeks ago and all made soap together. It was super fun and at the end, we all sang "I am a child of God" for the lady and she cried and cried. It was awesome and we really felt the spirit. Plus we got some fun pics.
At church this week, we ended up having to find a child's parents and it turns out they had to leave and were coming back to get him. He refused to attend class, so we went to the Bishop for advice. Bishop is the most incredible person and he just has this way of talking to everyone that just makes everyone feel valued and important. This little boy was running around crazy but Bishop held his attention and started chatting with him. This is basically the conversation:
Bishop: "Hello! Do you know who I am?"
Child: "Um, yeah, I think I saw you up on the stage in church."
Bishop: "Yeah, that was me. Do I look good?"
Child: "Yeah. Why do you sit up there? Are you the boss?"
Bishop: "Yep! Hey what color is my skin?"
Child: "Brown."
B: "What color is your skin?"
C: "White."
B: "Does that make us any different?"
C:"No."
B: "Exactly. We are exactly the same. Except I'm the boss." Hahaha :)
Then we took a selfie.
And Brother Carroll joined in. He's my favorite.

We saw so many miracles this week, and we're so excited because E's baptism is this week!!! She is so ready to be baptized and tells us often that she knows this is the true church of Jesus Christ. We met her on the street because I wanted to pet her dog and now we're here. She told us that this is what she's been looking for all her life.

I'm so grateful for everything I've been able to do, and it's not even a quarter over yet! I think this is the beginning of a truly amazing mission. I hope I can live up to it.

I love you all! Thank you for your prayers and love!
I Love Being A Missionary!!!!
Love,
Sister Caton
