Week 7

"You have to be unique, and different, and shine in your own way." -Lady Gaga

Hola!
This week was awesome!

I could not believe how much fun we had and how crazy this week was!
Sister Gibb and I received the news that another sister in the mission
broke her elbow while biking, and we ended up being in a car-share
this week so she could have a car. So that meant- biking 5000 miles
every day. In the rain. And in the dark. And it was awesome! My bike
ended up being broken, but we didn't know for 2 days. So that was fun,
but then our less active friend fixed it for me and everything in the
world is right again!

Our most tragic event this week was that as we were tracting, we tried
to catch this lizard, and he fell down on the ground- ("And great was
the fall thereof"- Sister Gibb) and we were looking for him and Sister
Gibb stepped back and we hear a CRUNCH. We looked down and he was
dying on the ground! Sister Gibb stepped on him! It was so sad. And he
died. And I didn't take a picture because let's just say it was a
little graphic. But I did take an awesome picture of a huge lizard on
a house!
Here it is:

That is the closest I've seen to an Alligator. :)
But Lizards are everywhere out here! I try so hard to catch them but they are always too fast. When we bike I always think we are accidentally squishing them because they run all over the sidewalk. But they are so cool! I will catch one someday.

So this week was also transfers, and so much of our district is moving around! We had a double funeral for our elders in our district who are going home, and it is so sad to see them go. Here is a pic:

Elder T didn't want to look like he was dying too but he did in a later picture. Elder C is so tall! Also his hands are ginormous next to mine. Here is the evidence:

It's crazy! Also, my grandma (aka my trainer's trainer) is being transferred to a different area, along with one of the Elders in our ward. That means we are getting 4 new district members! I'm sure it will be exciting.

Sister Gibb and I are staying together for 6 more weeks for sure, which is good. Now she gets to train me 100%. :) she is awesome!
Also this week, we did a service project where we painted a trailer with a bunch of other missionaries for a lady who is in the ward. We had a great time!

You can't really see me in this pic, and I'm not that flushed out but hey, it's a picture.

Also, I took this cool picture in a member's backyard when we had to wait out there until their mom got home so we could have a lesson.
I think it's awesome.

Our most exciting news this week is that we are having a baptism! Our investigator K is getting baptized this Saturday, and it is incredible! He is such a miracle, and I feel so lucky because Sister Gibb and I have taught him from lesson 1 to baptism! He has changed so much in the last few weeks, and we know he is so ready for baptism. He has read so much of the Book of Mormon, and he has been reading everything we give to him. He loves God and he even said the closing prayer in Sunday School yesterday! Ahhh he is so awesome!
Oh yeah, and I sang in church yesterday. I guess this month is the month of Sister Caton haha

I love you all so much! I hope your week is full of miracles and love! I love being a missionary!
Love,
Sister Caton
